The Path To Happiness - It's Your Choice!
THE PATH TO HAPPINESS has nothing to do with circumstances. Yet, haven’t you heard others (and/or yourself) say, I’ll be happy when: - I finish college and start my career
- I meet the person of my dreams
- I finally get divorced from that #%&%! (oops!)
- I lose those 40 lbs
- I own my own home
- The kids are out of the house and on their own
- I finally retire
So, maybe by the time you’re about 70 you’ll be happy! CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH HAPPINESS! You’ve simply conditioned yourself to believe that. However, that’s an incredibly passive and powerless way to live. When you think that way, you make yourself dependent on outside circumstances. The truth is, THE PATH TO HAPPINESS is not “out there,” but inside you; happiness comes from within.
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. Albert Schweitzer
You might remember that song from the 1980’s, Bobby McFerrin’s Don’t Worry, Be Happy. When I first heard it, I was perplexed. I wondered how you can just be happy. I wasn’t understanding that happiness is more than just an emotion that comes as a result of favorable circumstances. Happiness is a choice, a mindset, a decision, even a way of life! What an incredibly different view that is.
People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be.Abraham Lincoln
So, on THE PATH TO HAPPINESS, how are you going to make yourself happy? Here are some steps: - Realize the creative power of your thoughts. Get to work and do some Law of Attraction reading!
- Observe happy people - What seems to make them happy? Circumstances it ain‘t!
- Make a list of the positive things in your life and keep reminding yourself of them.
- Start noting and then appreciating every little thing - from the sun to the air you breathe.
- Recite this affirmation daily I’m as happy as I want to be
- Practice “happiness habits” such as SMILING, LAUGHING, FIRM HANDSHAKES, SAYING “THANK YOU,” LIFTING YOUR HEAD UP AND PUTTING YOUR SHOULDERS BACK!
Come on! How tough is that?
The basic thing is that everyone wants happiness, no one wants suffering. And happiness mainly comes from our own attitude, rather than from external factors. The Dalai Lama
Don’t ever underestimate the attraction power of happiness. Happy people feel and are attractive! Isn’t it nice to be around a happy person? Doesn’t the energy of a room pick up when a happy person comes in? ABSOLUTELY! According to the Law of Attraction, you have, by the power of thought, the capacity to create what you desire. Utilize your imagination to begin to see yourself as a happy person. Start to look past circumstances around you such as unhappy people, a “challenging economy” or difficult responsibilities. THE PATH TO HAPPINESS is an “inside job.”
The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance, the wise grows it under his feet. James Oppenheim
As you find more and more things to be happy about and at the same time are seeing yourself as a happy person, and then PRACTICING BEING HAPPY, you’ll begin to feel a sense of power and strength inside you. That’s the vibration energy of happiness developing. What will be wonderfully satisfying to you is when people remark that they observe you to be happy. As I am writing these words, it was most pleasing for a dance partner to ask me just last night why I was so happy. My answer was, “Because I’ve decided to be happy.” For me, THE PATH TO HAPPINESS was an intention.
Happiness is a Swedish sunset -- it is there for all, but most of us look the other way and lose it.Mark Twain
I’ve come to feel that the greatest expression of the Law of Attraction in my life right now is having the power to be happy. Sure, there’s plenty of times when I get unsettled or lose my cool, but very quickly I can recover and get back to where I want to be. Usually, the way to do that is to give; give away a smile, give some help, give some good will. It always works! You might get “knocked off” THE PATH TO HAPPINESS, but it’s up to you to get right back on it! So! Don’t read this and say to yourself, “Yeah, but” . . . YEAH, BUT NOTHING! YOU’RE AS HAPPY AS YOU WANT TO BE! So, starting now, DECIDE TO BE HAPPY AND START PRACTISING HAPPINESS! Happiness is a choice. Happiness comes from within.
