You've Got The Music in You! Law Of Attraction Music
LAW OF ATTRACTION MUSIC; Yes, there is such a thing. Of course, it’s all in your mind. But then again, according to the Law of Attraction, everything is! Let me tell you my story. In 1999, I was recently separated, living alone and feeling incredibly down and defeated. I missed being with my kids terribly. There were many nights I wouldn’t even take my coat off but lie down on the couch and put a blanket over myself. Most nights I’d fall asleep to New Age music with its dreamy sounds playing on cable. But, there was a song that not only expressed some of my feelings but GAVE ME HOPE. The song is You Get What You Give by The New Radicals (Gregg Alexander). I love the title because it presents the great truth that we can only get back to us what we give out; pure Law of Attraction! There are some funky, kind of weird (at least to me) lyrics in the song but it hit home here with: But when the night is falling and you cannot find the light You feel your dreams are dying I didn’t feel as if my dreams were dying; they were dead. I had left ministry after almost 20 years because I felt as if I couldn’t do it anymore. I chose jobs that were way beneath my skill and educational level because it reflected how poorly I felt about myself.Money ran out. I remember being in a supermarket (with no money) and eating food sample after food sample that was available. I looked around in case I was “spotted” and they’d kick me out! But, I was hungry. Another time I remember buying a loaf of bread and hugging it because it was so precious to me. Other words which described the way I was feeling were: But when the night is fallingYou cannot find a friend, You feel your tree is breakingJust bendYet, my first introduction to LAW OF ATTRACTION MUSIC, You Get What You Give, provided me with a mantra of hope. I’ll repeat the words from the first stanza that I quoted above and those that follow throughout the song: But when the night is falling and you cannot find the light, You feel your dreams are dyingHold tight You've got the music in you Don't let go You've got the music in you One dance left This world is gonna pull throughDon't give up You've got a reason to live Can't forget We only get what we giveThere it was. In the midst of words that described defeat and depression were the words which I literally held and squeezed as if they were life to me - because THEY WERE LIFE TO ME:
YOU’VE GOT THE MUSIC IN YOU Today I can stand back and examine that period and look at that song as my introduction to LAW OF ATTRACTION MUSIC. However, at the time the idea that YOU’VE GOT THE MUSIC IN YOUwas literally the only feeling of hope I had. I held on to those words so tightly that year (and some time after). I kept telling myself that I had the music in me. I DID NOT FEEL IN THE LEAST that there was any “music” in me, but I STILL BELIEVED IT WAS TRUE! I would play the tape in my car as often as possible, again and again. It was like I was an asthmatic breathing in pure oxygen. Of course, it was only later that I realized that I had to “give” (not only in caring for others but in the thoughts I “gave out”) in order to “get”. But for quite awhile I simply held on and believed I had the music inside me. I do believe that there is LAW OF ATTRACTION MUSIC. Songs are not just a powerful way of holding onto a belief or a hope; they are instruments that crystallize our subconscious beliefs. Once we learn a song that we enjoy, it’s almost like riding a bike; we don’t ever forget how to “do it.” It flows with our spirit and sometimes takes us to a new “place” in our minds and in our moods. I see LAW OF ATTRACTION MUSIC as songs that - Give hope
- Provide a positive example
- Lift the spirit
For me, LAW OF ATTRACTION MUSIC has content that enables me to create a vision of where I want to be or what I want to become. Music already has an incredible power that can lead our spirits into a literal new world. I simply see LAW OF ATTRACTION MUSIC as songs with words of power to potentially create the reality that they express. I didn’t learn about the Law of Attraction for several years, but at that time, I simply believed that I had the music in me. I believed that there was melody, beauty, hope and inspiration in me that would transcend any situation. That belief has come true. I find that I have the power to lift myself out of “down” feelings very quickly. There are many times in a day when I feel absolutely happy. My feelings don’t have any direct connection with any particular positive situation most of the time. It’s simply a matter of my deciding that I’m a happy person. The “music” is in me! There are other songs which I consider LAW OF ATTRACTION MUSIC. There will be other pages created on this site that examine them. Some of them are: - On The Sunny Side Of The Street
- Put On A Happy Face
- Everything’s Coming Up Roses
- Pick Yourself Up
- You Gotta Have Heart
Many times I find myself not only singing these songs to myself, but also “claiming” their words and promises. I want the ideas, the dreams, the reality that they express to be manifested in me. BY THE WAY! If any of you have songs which you consider LAW OF ATTRACTION MUSIC, please contact me (there's a "contact me" NavBar on the top left-hand side of this page). - Tell me your song
- Tell me your story behind the song
I’ll do my best to consider publishing your song and your “testimony” in this site! Near the end of You Get What You Give, Gregg Alexander sings in a way that made me feel as if he was blowing a battle tune with a trumpet. The words are so simple, but they have brought great power and hope to me: Fly High! What’s real can’t die! What an inspiration those words have been to me. I’ve made a decision to “fly high.” I’m not going to sit back and wonder what’s been happening. I’m deciding who I am and what my life is now and in the future. Because it comes from deep inside and was burnished with the tools of pain and suffering, it’s real and it can’t die! If you'd like to hear the song, I've got a link for you at You Tube to listen to it. There's no images at all. I didn't use the original video because, well... it makes no sense and has nothing to do with the song! Here's You Get What You Give. Think about songs that you love. Are there ones that have the qualities that I described above? Then, you might very well have your own LAW OF ATTRACTION MUSIC. However, wherever you are, no matter how low and how depressed, don’t ever forget and don’t ever deny that: YOU’VE GOT THE MUSIC IN YOUOnce you’ve got that idea fixed in your mind and spirit: FLY HIGH!WHAT’S REAL CAN’T DIE!
