The Affirmation Process - A Powerful Attraction Tool

The AFFIRMATION PROCESS is repeating (on a daily basis in a statement form) the things that you desire. It is perhaps the most utilized tool for those practicing the Law of Attraction. It’s a way of “re-writing” the psychological scripts that you have come to believe about life and yourself. man holding sunUsing affirmation tools can be very effective in changing your thinking in the same way advertising is effective in bringing you to a conclusion about a particular product. In this case, you are the only listener.

It's the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief.
And once that belief becomes a deep conviction,
things begin to happen.
Claude M. Bristol

Effective Affirmation Techniques

The majority of Law of Attraction writers state that there are certain details that should always be expressed in the AFFIRMATION PROCESS. Affirmations should always be:

  • Positive (be expressed in positive terms that elicit emotion)
  • Present (“I am this NOW”)
  • Personal (always have “I” - included)
Clearly, you must be always put any affirmations you repeat in positive terms. This is because your subconscious mind, which is the literal storehouse of your beliefs, does not “hear” a concept put in negative terms, but rather, reacts to wherever the emotional energy is constellated.

Make It a Positive Affirmation - Always Positive!

Positive affirmation I Think I canIf you repeated an affirmation, “I’m going to get out of debt,” your subconscious mind is only hearing “debt.” I recall one writer using instructions to a dog as an example. If you said to your trained dog, “don’t lie down,” he will lie down!

Repeating the idea of getting out of debt is not going to generate a lot of emotional energy either; the same way that trying to lose 30 lbs may be needed, but it’s hardly exciting. Energy and enthusiasm is needed in the AFFIRMATION PROCESS.

You will be a failure, until you impress
the subconscious with the conviction you are a success.
This is done by making an affirmation which "clicks."

30 Lbs Less Through A Powerful, Positive Affirmation

I was able to lose and keep off 30 lbs because in my AFFIRMATION PROCESS what I focused on was not "losing weight" but rather better health - "Every day I am achieving vibrant health." That affirmation kept my mind focused on an energizing and positive goal. It included my exercise program, my food shopping choices, my attitudes about life, and staying active with more dancing.

Oh yes, I did have a weekly, reasonable and sensible weight loss goal (1 1/2 lbs/week). But, it was only one part of a much larger, comprehensive and exciting vision.

In the AFFIRMATION PROCESS, keep them in the present tense; “I am a bold and confident person,” vs. “I’m going to become a bold and confident person. What you are saying to yourself (and especially to your subconscious mind which is the seat of habit) is that you believe yourself to actually be a bold and confident person - right now. This solidifies and intensifies your focus on that goal.

What About Affirmations That Contradict Reality?

Ah! But what if you are making affirmations about being prosperous when you’re deep in debt? Your (negative) feelings about your present financial condition will probably be too strong to be dislodged anytime soon. In cases like that, where your desire seems “far off,” simply state that you are “in the process.” In this case, your affirmation will “click” both with how you’re feeling about yourself and the goal.

You Can't Fool Your Subconscious!

Your subconscious mind won’t accept anything that seems preposterous. However, if you can state that you’re in the process of becoming whatever, your subconscious mind will accept it. After all, we’re always in the process of something. The difference is that you have a clear and compelling vision that is positive and energizing.

If you have also started to make definite plans for achieving prosperity, then your subconscious can more easily accept the fact that you are in the process of becoming what you desire. In this case, your intentions and behavior are aligned with your affirmation.

Definite Plans + Affirmations = Substantial Progress

affirmation processA critical step in my affirmation of “ever-increasing prosperity” in the face of debt was developing a budget where I kept track of every cent I spent. Then, I made a commitment to pay off certain credit card debt as well as back taxes. Practical plans and steps simply energized me and got me excited about my affirmation for ever-increasing prosperity.

The result was that I have become more excited and confident about who I am and in my relationship with money (money and I have been “divorced” many times). When I state my affirmation about ever-increasing prosperity, it rings more and more true, solidifying my feelings and my subconscious beliefs.

Affirmations - Keep Them Personal

At first I wondered why affirmations should have “I” included. After all, what’s wrong with affirming, “This world has an abundance of resources?” If “I” is not included then you’re just stating a cold fact that has nothing necessarily anything to do with you.

However, if you say, “I live in this world that is providing me with its abundance of resources,” you are making a personal belief statement that has a practical and emotional application.

I have two of what I call LAW OF ATTRACTION AFFIRMATIONS. They are both somewhat “neutral" facts about The Law of Attraction, thinking and the AFFIRMATION PROCESS. But, when I recite them, they stir up enthusiasm as I consider how they have been manifested for me in particular ways.

The AFFIRMATION PROCESS, when put in positive, present and personal terms, will be your most effective tool in attracting your desires.
